
Introduction
This is a ride that evokes the cycling of yesteryear and is dedicated to cycling enthusiasts without the constraints of competitive racing. The splendid itinerary starts from the coast and reaches the hills of the hinterland, through enchanted landscapes, unexplored routes, and charming historic villages, in the heart of the truest Romagna. The cycling tour is open to any type of bike: vintage racing bikes, modern racing bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes and e-bikes. The Fantini Club beach, the starting and finishing point of the ride, will be the event headquarters.
It is possible to take part in the event with any type of bike.
In particular with vintage racing bikes, modern racing bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes and e-bikes.
FOR ROUTES OVER 70 KM
For tours over 70 km, a medical certificate of fitness for competitive cycling and an amateur cyclist's card must be presented.
In the case of minors, if they are not card-carrying members, a waiver from their parents will also be required.
Those who are not in possession of a valid membership card may participate by signing a day card.
Those who do not submit the required documentation explicitly agree to participate in a route of less than 70km.
FOR ROUTES OF LESS THAN 70 KM
For routes of less than 70 km, a medical certificate of fitness for non-competitive sporting activity and a membership card are not required.
In the case of minors, if they are not card-carrying members, a parental release will also be required.
RACE PACKET COLLECTION
Race pack and race number will be handed over at Fantini Club (Lungomare G. Deledda 182, Cervia 48015 RA).
HOW TO COLLECT THE RACE PACKAGE: cyclists must print out the registration form containing their details filled in during registration and present it to the secretariat area.
Times for collecting the race packet
Saturday, 12 October 2024: from 4 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Sunday 13 October 2024: 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
DEPARTURE
Sunday from 7.45 am to 8.45 am at Fantini Club.
French start, in groups of 20/25 cyclists maximum.
ADMISSIBILITY
The event is open to all.
Participation, excluding routes of less than 70 km, is permitted for ACSI Ciclismo members and all organisations and federations belonging to the Consulta Nazionale Ciclismo with valid membership cards for the current year.
Participants must be in possession of a cyclist's card.
Non-members may participate by subscribing to a day card at a cost of €10.00 (validity of insurance cover limited to the duration of the sporting event). In order to obtain a day pass, the athlete must present a medical certificate of fitness for competitive cycling. The day card can be subscribed to on Saturday 12 October 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and Sunday 13 October from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Foreign cardholders may only participate if they are in possession of a valid membership card issued by their home federation. For foreign cyclists not in possession of such a card, participation is only permitted with the signing of a daily card and the production of a medical certificate of fitness for competitive activity.
A competitive medical certificate is only required for those who decide to cycle a route of more than 70 km, while non-competitive medical certificates are not required for routes of less than 70 km.
N.B. By signing the registration form, each participant acts as guarantor of his/her own behaviour during and after the event; he/she also declares that he/she is in good physical condition and in possession of a valid membership card for the year of the race; that he/she has read and approved the following regulations.
This signature has the legal value of self-certification in relation to what has been declared. The organising committee also reserves the right not to accept unwanted entries. In this case, the person concerned will be notified before the event. The Organising Committee also reserves the right to take legal action for compensation for any damage caused should participants cause damage to the event's image through behaviour contrary to sporting ethics.
DAILY CARD
Those who are not in possession of a valid membership card may participate by subscribing to a daily membership card with insurance cover limited to the duration of the sporting event at a cost of €10.00.
In order to take out a day pass, the athlete must present a medical certificate of fitness for sporting activity. The day card can be subscribed on Saturday 12 October 2024 from 4.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and on Sunday 13 October from 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 a.m. at Fantini Club.
For foreign cyclists not in possession of a card, please refer to the point on eligibility in these regulations.
RACE NUMBER
It is compulsory to display the race number on the bike, on the back in a VISIBLE and NON ALTERED manner. The number must not be rolled up.
CONTROLS AND RACE TIMES
Three control points will be set up along the route to certify the passage of participants.
Validation consists in affixing a specific stamp on the card that will be provided by the organisation to each participant.
The last stamp, on arrival at the Fantini Club, is guaranteed until 4 p.m.
REFRESHMENTS AND PASTA PARTY
There will be three refreshment points along the route for the long course, two for the medium course and one for the short course. At the finish there will be a pasta party for all participants at the Fantini Club (access to the pasta party from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm).
Important: To access the pasta party, you must hand in the voucher inside the race pack at the entrance. It will be possible to buy the pasta party voucher for accompanying persons at the Fantini Club bar cash desk at the cost of €10.
BICYCLE DEPOT:
It will be possible to use a bike deposit area. Release and collection will be bound by the front number on the bike corresponding to the athlete's dorsal.
REPLACEMENT OR CANCELLATION
The replacement or cancellation of an athlete will only be accepted by 26 August 2024, subject to a fee of € 5.00 for secretarial costs.
In the event of the replacement of an athlete, the fee must be paid by the specified date together with the new athlete's details.
In the event of a cancellation, the fee must be paid by the given date together with the request to keep the registration valid for the 2025 edition.
Under no circumstances may the fee be refunded.
ROAD RULES
Information to participating athletes and accompanying persons for their safety. Participants are required to observe the rules governing road traffic as well as all those commonly defined as "ordinary prudence" for the entire duration of the cycling event, i.e. from start to finish. Please note that the event takes place on roads open to traffic and in all weather conditions. The organisation declines all responsibility for any accidents that may occur before, during and after the event to athletes and accompanying persons. THE ASSISTANCE OF CARRIERS OR SCOOTERS FOLLOWING THE ATHLETES IS NOT ALLOWED, under penalty of the unquestionable disqualification of the beneficiary subjects and teams. For anything not covered by these regulations, the rules governing the cycling activity of ACSI CICLISMO shall apply. The organiser is expressly exonerated from liability for circumstances, any damage resulting from events solely attributable to the participant, as well as damage to property or persons caused by the participant on his own initiative. The organiser is expressly exempt from liability for circumstances arising from unforeseeable circumstances and/or force majeure, i.e. circumstances that the organiser himself could not, according to professional diligence, reasonably foresee or resolve. Payment of the fee automatically implies acceptance of the regulations. The use of an approved full-face protective helmet is compulsory.
N.B.: it should be noted that the Strade Bianche del Sale event is not a competitive event but is a bicycle touring rally.
VARIATIONS
The organisation reserves the right to make changes to the regulations and the route at any time.
Note: Should the event be cancelled for reasons of force majeure not attributable to the organisation, the organising committee reserves the right to retain the registration fees paid.
The organising committee also reserves the right to claim damages from anyone whose misbehaviour damages the event's image.
